Hi,
I am 32yrs old and a mother to a 5yr old boy, a 4yr old boy, a 2yr old girl and an 11mth old baby boy, 6 dogs, 3 cats, 4 horses, 4 mini donkeys, my rabbits, 4 pigs and 4 goats and a wife to my hard working, tolerant, patient, loving husband. I hold certificates for Veterinary Assistant, Personal Support Worker and Pet Grooming.
Apart from raising and soon showing my Rabbits, I also enjoy taking care of my horses, riding them and currently training my 2yr old gelding and 4yr old filly. My other hobbies include but are not limited to, reading, writing, crochet, sewing, baking, and photography (mainly animals)
I started this rabbitry in the summer of 2013. I have an intense love and passion for animals and wanted to try my hand in rabbits. I chose Netherland Dwarfs because they have always been my favorite breed of rabbit. I purchased my first four rabbits, Rovin, Bel, Emmett and Ivory. We had a rocky start but we're learning. Next came naming my rabbitry. I thought to myself, What means the world to me apart from my animals? My kids. So I named my rabbitry after my two darling baby boys, Cameron (4yrs old) and Caleb (3yr old). Hence my double C boys.
I plan on teaching my kids how to handle the rabbits and once old enough I will have them show the rabbits. For now, Cameron helps feed the rabbits and clean them.
November 2016 I decided to branch out and add a new breed to the rabbitry. I chose my other favorite breed, the velveteen rabbit. I'm looking forward to this new adventure.
For 10yrs I worked in Animal Hospitals, three of those years being in a Vet clinic that specialized in rabbits. I've done lots of research on Netherland Dwarfs and every day I'm still learning. I plan on showing my future rabbits this time next year when I produce show quality stock. I breed for 3 things, conformation, color and personality. I strive to achieve all 3 features in my future kits.
I'm gearing more towards Blue Eyed White/Vienna marked as well as Otter and starting to dable in the broken pattern..
I breed only purebred and pedigreed Netherland Dwarfs here, nothing here will ever be half pedigreed. All kits will be purebred and up to the colour standard of The American Rabbit Breeders Association. I don't experiment with colours here in my rabbitry.
I breed to improve the breeds and that includes keeping their colours pure.
We live 10min north of Cornwall outside a small town called St. Andrews. We bought our hobby farm fall of 2012 and have grown since then with all our pets.
